Before He Found Hallmark
Before Paul became a leading Hallmark hunk, he played in a very different sandbox – one full of sci-fi series! Most notably, he played Billy Keikeya on “Battlestar Galactica.” As the presidential aide to President Roslin, Paul showed his dramatic chops and gained a devoted fanbase.
He also appeared as Billy Morgan in the “Knight Rider” remake, adding another interesting role to his pre-Hallmark resume. These early roles showcased his range and helped build the foundation for his later success.
Why We Love Paul Campbell
When we think Paul Campbell, the first thing we think is comedy. From the first moment he appears on screen in “The Santa Summit” where he introduces himself as himself, we were rolling.
We especially love that he’s not afraid to look a little silly. His character Alden Case in The Cases of Mystery Lane is a lovable goofball. He’s not trying to be the smoldering leading man. He’s hilarious, while also being a pretty damn good amateur detective.

We particularly love the character of Stephan in the “Three Wiser Men” movies. Giving Stephan a touch of anxiety makes him a highly relatable member of the Brenner clan.
And finally, Paul wouldn’t be the Hallmark star that he is without the ability to connect with his co-stars on a romantic level. We absolutely adored his connection with Kimberley Sustad in “Wedding Every Weekend.” Over on Hallmark Mystery, Paul and Aimee Garcia make a delightful, yet unlikely, pair in “The Cases of Mystery Lane” franchise
What’s Next for Paul Campbell
Paul had a whirlwind of a holiday season. He appeared at Hallmark fan events like the Hallmark Christmas Cruise and The Hallmark Christmas Experience.
In addition, he co-wrote “Three Wiser Men and a Boy” one of the tentpoles of the 2024 Countdown to Christmas season. He also made a surprise and memorable cameo in “The Santa Class.”
With all of that said, it seems a little greedy to wonder when we’ll get another piece of the Campbell pie. Call us greedy then, because we’re definitely thinking it!
While no official announcements have been made, here’s what we’re hoping to see from Paul Campbell in 2025:
- A third installment of “The Cases of Mystery Lane” franchise. More Birdy and Alden, please!
- Another writing project with Kimberley Sustad. We know they have things in the works – we’re just hoping to see them come to fruition soon!
- A leading role in a Countdown to Christmas 2025 movie!
